謝金河在臉書貼文強調，台灣眼前要加大國內生產毛額（GDP）總量，這些年台灣經濟陷入停滯，就是沒有把產值拉高。
針對仍在養病的李前總統開門見山的問，「蔡英文總統」即將上任，台灣如何面對出口衰退，經濟成長率每下愈況的問題？
他在探望李前總統時回應，全球貿易總量持續萎縮，全球出口、進口都有衰退的壓力，像南韓以出口為主，去年出口衰退7.9%，今年元月出口又衰退18.5%，2月再衰退12.2%，台灣很難單獨倖免。
因此，未來GDP的低成長或負成長，也可能成為常態，但這是產業轉型升級最關鍵的時刻。
他直言，2000年第一次政黨輪替，台灣的GDP約2500億美元，如今約5000億美元，大約成長1倍；但中國大陸從1兆美元拉升到近11兆美元，成長10倍，台灣當然陷入困頓。因此，台灣要找可以撐大格局的新產業。
謝金河對李前總統說，台灣要重返創新之路，這個話點燃李前總統的熱情。
李前總統開始暢談他的物聯網（IOT）救台灣理論，他認為，這是台灣第4次產業革命，台灣要從大量生產走向最適化的生產，還要以客為尊的客製化導向，尤應注意台灣的半導體產業，能不能在物聯網發展的時代繼續領先全球。1050304
